Metabolic map about the mechanism of action of anthrax
thanks for your visit and comment. Putting it simply, this map represents the anthrax toxin is composed by three distinct proteins, the PA EF and LF. The former is required to "open a gate" into the cellular membrane, in order to allow the passage of the other two components to the cytosol. Once there, EF and LF activate different intracellular signalling pathways that will led to swelling and cell death.
